Stainless Steel Fabrication for Demanding Applications

Pharmaceutical components demand precision at every step – from surface finish to documentation. At Numberger Technologies, stainless steel is processed in areas strictly separated from mild steel: dedicated zones, dedicated tooling, no cross-contamination.

Our TIG welders work purged and full-penetration. The result: pore-free, oxide-free weld seams that withstand every inspection. Complemented by robotic welding for consistent quality in series production.

With AD 2000 HP0 certification we are approved for the manufacture of pressure vessels and pressure-bearing equipment – under TÜV supervision. ISO 3834-2 ensures every welding procedure is qualified, every weld seam documented, every material traceable.

Frequently Asked Questions

Which stainless steel grade is suitable for pharmaceutical applications?
1.4404 (316L) and 1.4571 are most commonly used. 1.4404 offers higher corrosion resistance due to its molybdenum content and is the standard for pharmaceutical applications. Both grades are available from our stock.
What surface finish can you achieve?
Our standard finish is Ra 1.6. For pharmaceutical applications we supply Ra 0.8 and finer. Electropolishing is available and reduces surface roughness further. We measure roughness directly on the component using our in-house surface profilometer and supply the measurement report.
What is AD 2000 Merkblatt HP0?
AD 2000 HP0 governs the manufacturing requirements for pressure equipment. Numberger Technologies is certified to HP0 and is approved to manufacture pressure vessels and pressure-bearing equipment – under TÜV supervision.
Can you supply material test certificates 3.1?
Yes – material inspection certificates 3.1 to EN 10204 are standard on all pharma-relevant orders. Every material is traceable back to the melt heat number.
What is the difference between 1.4301 and 1.4404?
1.4301 (V2A) is the standard stainless steel grade. 1.4404 (316L) additionally contains molybdenum for improved resistance to corrosion – it is the standard in pharmaceutical, chemical and food processing applications. The price difference is approximately 15–20%.
Do you have experience supplying international pharmaceutical companies?
Yes – we supply components to customers throughout Europe, including pharmaceutical manufacturers and equipment builders. All documentation (certificates, weld records, material traceability) is provided in English on request.
